Varieties of walnuts

Sibisel 44, was selected at SCDP Geoagiu from the Walnut populations from Sibisel and introduced into culture in 1979. The fruit is large in size, ovoid in shape with a pointed tip and rounded base. The core represents 48% of the weight of the fruit, the white-yellow skin is crispy, has a high concentration of protein substances (18.40%) and the taste is sweet, pleasantly aromatic. Fruit ripening occurs in the last decade of September, and sometimes at the beginning of October.
